The British Isles With Driven Shooting

While driven shooting was a European creation, it has reached its zenith in the British Isles.
Without a doubt pheasant shooting at its best is better here than on the Continent. The tall bird shoots of Scotland, Northumberland and the great West Country shoots of England such as North Molton present the most challenging pheasants in the world. To be honest, no shoot on the continent of Europe provides as challenging shooting, not even close. However, shooting driven birds in the British Isles including the Republic of Ireland is significantly more expensive. The minimum price per bird is approximately Sterling £ 30. While smaller bags can be had in January, most of the shoots offer expected bags in excess of 250 per day.

The few good tall pheasant shoots in Ireland (three or four) need to be booked one to two years in advance if one needs more than a single day of shooting.

Fabulous partridge shooting over hedge rows in the Lincolnshire wolds or rugged terrain of Devon is available from September.

Grouse is the most unpredictable shooting in the world. Being a completely wild bird, populations fluctuate greatly. Some years are fantastic and some years see many days cancelled. If you are interested, we do have wonderful contacts at many of the best estates. We can organize driven woodcock & snipe as well as decoyed woodpigeon, but only for complete teams.

We have many offerings in the British Isles both for individual Guns and teams. We suggest that you telephone us or E-mail (alex.brant@btconnect.com) for details.
