Shooting/Game Viewing
Arrive at/transfer to, Johannesburg International Airport. Met by Gamebirds representative/shoot host. Board local BA or SAA flight to Lusaka, in Zambia. (Not included in safari price). On arrival Lusaka (Gamebirds safari commences) met by the Zambian Gamebirds team, clear formalities (can be slow) and then drive the short distance to the Chibembe Game Lodge, the privacy of which we will almost certainly have to ourselves for the duration of our stay. Check-in, freshen-up and enjoy a delicious late lunch, served alfresco, accompanied by a long cold glass of the excellent, light, local Mosi (means “mist”) lager beer.
For the guns (time permitting) a short afternoon of flighted dove or other shooting. For the non-shooters the rest of the afternoon at leisure or, after tea, depart on a game viewing drive through the 20,000 acre game reserve which surrounds the Lodge, in open 4 x 4 vehicles. This reserve has the largest private collection of most of the rarer species of antelope occurring in Zambia such as Lichtenstein’s Hartebeeste, Sitatunga, Puku, Oribi, Roan and Sable.
Then cocktails and dinner, in this beautifully designed and decorated family owned property, overlooking an African landscape lit only by the flicker of a distant campfire as the sun sets. Overnight Chibembe Lodge. (All inclusive).
